Well folks, the past few weeks have been full of iPhone 5 rumors, with reported NFC capability and a ridiculously fast A6 processor among some of the mentioned features for the new iPhone. We’ve even heard that the iPhone 5 will be coming out in June to coincide with Apple’s World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC). But what we haven’t heard much about lately is the actual look of the iPhone 5. That is, until this week. You see, even though the WWDC is still four months away, iPhone 5 Latest has received images that may very well show the iPhone 5. It appears that the iPhone images have leaked.
First Look at the iPhone 5
This week we received an email from an Faiz Aly of A.One, a team that focuses on researching and finding leaks, as well as other information, concerning upcoming Apple products. Faiz Aly and A.One were kind enough to provide us with two images that they believe were leaked from Apple’s WWDC 2012 keynote presentation.
Of course, we cannot say for sure that this is what the iPhone 5 will look like as many iPhone images have leaked in the past that ultimately didn’t pan out. However, our source has gotten it right before and already has information on the upcoming iPad 3, which will likely be released in March. So we’re inclined to believe that the iPhone 5 images have leaked and that the iPhone 5 might just look like the iPhone seen in these images:
A. One’s Foxconn source (who wishes to remain unnamed) told A. One that the iPhone 5 will have a different form factor than the rectangular, flat shaped iPhone 4 and 4S. This confirms what we assumed based on the leaked images: the iPhone 5 will indeed have a rounder shape than previous iPhones.
Better Camera and CMOS Sensor Coming to iPhone 5
Something we wondered about (and that wasn’t evident with the leaked iPhone 5 images) was whether or not the iPhone 5 would be getting a better camera. Of course, people are generally pretty happy with the iPhone 4S 8 Megapixel camera, but some have been holding out for a better camera in the iPhone 5.
And according to A. One, that’s exactly what they’ll be getting as the iPhone 5 is reportedly set to have a whopping 13 Megapixel camera. While such a huge camera isn’t common in smartphones (yet), it’s also not unheard of as the HTC Titan 2 will be coming with a 16 Megapixel Camera.
The iPhone 5 camera will also come equipped with an upgraded CMOS sensor. As you might recall, the iPhone 4S was the first iPhone to come with a CMOS sensor. The new iPhone 5 CMOS sensor plus the higher megapixel camera will likely greatly improve the quality of pictures taken with the iPhone 5′s camera.
Production Has Began
We also asked A. One’s Faiz Aly about the iPhone 5′s production status. Aly told us that, according to his Foxconn source, production has already begun on the iPhone 5 in the Foxconn plants. This falls in line with what we previously reported here and also leads us to believe that the iPhone 5 will be hitting the market in June or July to coincide with WWDC 2012.
What Do You Think?
Which of these reported iPhone 5 features has you most excited about the upcoming device? Do you think that there will be a substantial difference in picture quality with the iPhone 5 as compared to the iPhone 4S? Will you be buying the iPhone 5 given these features?
